Father: saiful was used

Irrespective of how the world sees him, the man who has accused PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim of sodomy has the unyielding support of his family.The family of Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan for the first time have publicly expressed grief for what they believe has happened to him - avictim of sodomy.”I’m upset for my son the victim. Like he (Saiful) mentioned in the police report, he was used and sodomised by his former employer Anwar,” stated Saiful’s father Azlan Mohd Lazim in a statement today.

Saiful’s lawyer Zamri Idrus (left) read the written statement on behalf Azlan, who was not present at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today. The lawyer was accompanied by Saiful’s uncle known only as “Uncle Pet”.”My son has shown great courage in revealing what has happened and is fully assisting the police in their investigation unlike his former boss who just gives excuses and delays the investigation,” said Azlan in his statement.

Saiful has been a central character since he made the sodomy allegation last month. The matter came to a boiling point with the high-handed arrest of Anwar on July 16. Anwar while in overnight detention refused to provide DNA samples to the police, fearing evidence tampering.Azlan maintained that Saiful has shown moral fortitude and is ever willing to swear his innocence on the Quran in any mosque. When asked if Saiful was still in hiding, his lawyer Zamri Idrus answered in the affirmative and said he was in a safe place.”It’s not yet the time for him to come out. We will wait until the investigations are over,” said Zamri who is representing Saiful in the civil suit filed by Anwar.Zamri explained that the family’s statement
of support now was to show the family’s continuing support for Saiful.He added tha the family requested for the police to quicken the pace of the investigation and asked those who have an interest in the case not to impede the process.

“What has happened… has happened but we have to go on with our lives. And we are confident Allah will come to our aid,” said Saiful’s uncle Pet (photo, right).”He is my nephew and I trust him,” said Pet.
